About Bristol Flower Company
Hello, I’m Jen, and I grow seasonal, scented flowers in the heart of Bristol.
I started Bristol Flower Company to share the simple joy of beautiful blooms with fellow Bristolians. What I grow is shaped by the seasons; from delicate anemones and ranunculus in spring to vibrant dahlias through summer, all grown sustainably.
I specialise in:
-
Hand-tied seasonal bouquets
-
Single-variety bunches
-
DIY flower buckets for home arranging

Flowers are available from April - September and my approach is simple: grow what belongs in the season, nurture the soil, and share flowers that feel alive when they reach you.
Why Local Matters
Most commercially sold flowers travel huge distances and are treated with preservatives so they survive long journeys. My flowers are picked to order the day before collection, allowed to hydrate overnight, and travel just a few miles to you, meaning fresher flowers with a far smaller environmental footprint.

Growing with Nature
Nature is pretty amazing. When left to its own devices it always finds a balance. Too many greenfly? More ladybirds arrive as if by magic. A patch of bare soil? Weeds pop up to protect it. But modern farming methods aim to maximise production, often of just one crop, which keeps nature off balance. Soil becomes depleted, habitats disappear and biodiversity diminishes.
I work with nature, not against it. Instead of intensive monoculture, I:
-
cultivate diversity so soil stays healthy
-
encourage pollinators and wildlife
-
never use pesticides or post-harvest preservatives
This means flowers that are safer for your home and more beautiful to enjoy.
Minimising Waste
I minimise waste at every stage, from biodegradable wraps to composting green waste back into the soil. I reuse trays and pots for years, and every part of a flower’s life goes back to supporting new growth.

Respecting the Seasons
Just like fruit and vegetables, flowers are at their best when they bloom naturally. Respecting the seasons means:

-
fewer resources used
-
richer scent and colour
-
bouquets that celebrate now, not everything all the time

Because I don’t force blooms out of season, there are times of year when flowers aren’t available, and that’s okay. It makes the seasons feel special again.
Right now, I'm taking pre-orders for Valentine’s flowers, with full seasonal availability returning in spring.
